Gangsters were out of date, and the ice-sweeper was an unlikely thing to steal. But Vicenzo was a streak, so what else could Henry do?

“Gangsters!” Ranjit wheezed. “I ain’t seen a gangster in twenty years! I fought them in the Crime War! I—”

“Shut up, old man,” Vicenzo ordered. His sideburns twitched around his cruel mouth. “Everything fixed here, Henry?”

“Are you into this, Henry?” Ranjit said.

A dystopia is a community or society that is extremely bad or frightening. It is often treated as an antonym of utopia, a term that was coined by Sir Thomas More and figures as the title of his best known work, published in 1516, which created a blueprint for an ideal society with minimal crime, violence, and poverty.
